POLICY THRUST OF THE MINISTRY
The policy thrust of the Ministry are:
- Formulation and implementation of policies on Culture and Tourism.
- Identification and compilation of all tourist attractions, heritage sites,
- historical monuments, Cultural items, artifacts e.t.c
- Preservation and development of all the identified sites, attractions and other items
- Promotion of Tourism and Cultural activities for the socio economic benefit of the State.
- Creation of viable platform to encourage public-private engagement.
- Serving as the melting point for all professional stakeholders in the sector of Culture, Visual Arts and Tourism.
- Organisation/participation in major International/National/State Festivals and events.
- Revenue generation through Cultural and Tourism Activities.
- Other Functions as embedded in the Departmental roles and policy thrust
