BACKGROUND INFORMATION ABOUT THE AGENCY

  • The Public Procurement Law was promulgated in 2014 by the last administration of the state through bill No: 43/OG/2013 enrolled during the 7th Legislature and assented to on the 8th June 2015. However, this Law was in a state of inertia for about five years during which nothing was achieved until the current administration led by Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR took a bold proactive step worthy of commendation to revive and give life to the Public Procurement (Amendment)Law, 2020 on the 28th July 2020 after it was passed by the 9th Assembly of Ogun State  House of Assembly through an enrolled bill No:45/OG/2020.
  • His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun not only signed the bill into law but went further with the implementation of the Law by establishing the Bureau of Public Procurement with the appointment of the Director-General on the 9th December 2020. This fulfils his desire to engineer a holistic Public Procurement reform in Ogun State.

 

The Composition of the Agency

  The Bureau in operation is structured into seven (7) Departments under the headship of the Director – General who is the Chief Executive Officer and Accounting Officer of the Agency

The Seven Departments are listed as follows:

  1. Administration and Human Resources Department
  2. Appeal Management, Resolution, and Quality Assurance Department
  3. Digital Procurement Department
  4. Finance and Accounts Department
  5. Monitoring & Evaluation, Compliance and Enforcement Department
  6. Procurement Review Department.
  7. Procurement Research and Strategic Planning Department
