Ogun State Head of Service (HoS), Mr. Kolawole Fagbohun, has commended the committee set up to develop the Induction and Orientation Manual for the Civil Service for their selflessness at getting the job done.
Mr. Fagbohun, while receiving the committee report, draft copies of the document and a Training Module in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, said the Chairman and the committee members were carefully selected based on their background, as well as track records in the Civil Service which added value to the Civil Service, promising to present the document to the State Executive Council for ratification.
He admonished ‘new generation’ officers to be constructive in their critique and not disrupt proceedings, which underscored the need for the manual, to orientate them at point of entry into the Civil Service.
Speaking, Chairman of the Committee, a retired Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Adekunle Adegbite, while presenting the document to the HoS, said the committee spent about four months to complete the task, noting that it consists of nine chapters; beginning with the introductory chapter on the Civil Service, the overview of the state, with other chapters on entry and exit in Civil Service, communication, training, performance evaluation, work environment, discipline among others.
He emphasised on the Training Module, pointing out that the documents would make the Service better, commending other members of the committee for their support, commitment and cooperation, while the assignment lasted.
