1. Department of Local Government Accounts
a. Audit the accounts of the twenty (20) Local Governments in the state
b. Audit the Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) kept by the Ministry of Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs
c. Audit the account of the Bureau of Local Government Pension
d. Examine and satisfy pension papers of retired Local Government staff and Primary School Teachers
e. Audit the 1% Training Fund released to Local Government Service Commission
f. Audit the salary payment to Primary School Teaching and non-Teaching staff administered by the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB)
g. Firm out audit of the twenty (20) Local Government Education Authority to audit firms (Chartered Accountants and Public Accountants) and issue final reports on their findings
h. Audit the accounts of the four (4) Traditional Councils in the state
i. Attend to reports of Board of Enquiry on loss of fund and stores
j. Collate and publish the Consolidated Statutory Report of the Auditor-General
2. Department of Planning, Research and Statistics
a. Develop Long/Medium and short-term Strategy Plans and Annual Budget for the Efficient performance of the Agency, vis-à-vis tracking of Budget performance.
b. Research into area of interest of the agency with the aim of developing Agency Work plans that feed into the State Programmes
c. Relate and align the Agency Budget with the Government of the day Agenda
d. Provision of Library Services
e. Collection, Collation, Analysis, Interpretation and Publication of Information for policy making
f. Monitoring of Activities in respect of set targets of the Agency and carrying out effective monitoring of projects and results.
3. Department of Administration and Supplies
a. Carry out all administrative functions, recruitment, promotion, discipline welfare etc.
b. Attend to correspondence with other Agencies/ parastatals etc.
c. All duties relating to procurement and keeping of store inventories.
d. Collate data on projects executed by the Agency.
e. Assist the Auditor-General in formulation, review and execution of administrative policies
f. Human capital development
g. Maintenance of the facilities of the Agency
4. Department of Finance and Accounts
a. Prepare budget for the Agency
b. Cash management
c. Financial Reporting
d. Financial control
e. Financial planning and forecasting
