Executive Chairman, Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Femi Majekodunmi, has charged the second batch of the newly deployed Ogun Teaching Experience Acquisition Channel (OgunTEACh), to be diligent in the discharge of their duties and obey the ethics of the teaching profession.
It would be recalled that in December, 2023, the first batch of OgunTEACh interns, who had completed a two-year probation period were given letters of appointment into the teaching profession in the state.
Dr. Majekodunmi gave the charge in Abeokuta, during a symbolic presentation of letters of appointment to successful interns, saying the initiative would address the pupil-teacher ratio by filling the existing vacancies in public primary schools across the state.
The SUBEB boss disclosed that the exercise was in phases, explaining that those who received their letters had completed a two-year probation period.
In his remarks, SUBEB Board Secretary, Dr. Mikali Lawal, urged the new teachers to play pivotal roles in shaping learners, whose future relies on their level of quality of education, advising them to be hardworking in transforming the education sector and ensure academic excellence.
He encouraged them to exhibit willingness to learn from senior colleagues, while adhering to the ethics of the profession.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr. Yusuf Adewale and Mrs. Folakemi Morohunfolu, appreciated Governor Dapo Abiodun for keeping to his promises, promising to contribute to the growth of the education sector.
