- Serve as the supervisory authority while also overseeing the welfare of all categories of nurses operating within the State.
- Monitor all health facilities in the State to ensure maintenance and sustenance of standard nursing care.
- Enforce compliance with all professional regulations as may be stipulated by the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
- To keep abreast of development in nursing services and management at national & international levels.
- To deploy nurses to various health facilities.
- To advise the Board on matters relating to nursing services.
