The main functions of the department are to:
- Research Coordination: The office is responsible for coordinating research efforts within the Agency. This includes identifying research priorities, facilitating collaboration among different teams or departments, and ensuring that research activities align with the Agency's goals and objectives.
- Data Management: The office is often tasked with managing data related to research, monitoring, and evaluation activities. This includes collecting, organizing, storing, and analyzing data in a systematic and efficient manner to support evidence-based decision-making.
- Capacity Building: The office may also be involved in building the capacity of staff and partners in research, monitoring, and evaluation methodologies and techniques. This could include providing training, mentoring, and technical assistance to enhance skills and knowledge in these areas.
- Strategic Planning: Contribute to strategic planning processes by providing evidence and insights derived from research and evaluation activities. This helps to inform strategic priorities, resource allocation decisions, and organizational strategy development.
