Functions of the Department

1. To carry out all Survey and Demarcation exercises within the Forest Reserves in the State.
2. To verify all concession and plots allocated to all timber contractors within the natural forest and forest plantation in the State.
3. To carry out Forest inventory with a view to ascertaining the quality, and stocking of Forest Reserves at any point in time.
4. To produce sketch maps of the Forest Reserves or part of the Forest Reserves for further development.
5. To carry out Forestry, Agroforestry and Wildlife Extension and Advocacy services with the view to involving all stakeholders including students in forestry development.
