Engr. Ade Olayinka Akinsanya is a highly skilled and experienced Civil Engineer with over 30 years of expertise in the design and construction of transportation infrastructure, focusing on bridge design and construction. He is an active member of the State of California registered Civil Engineer (License CE360414) and the Council of Registered Engineers of Nigeria (COREN) R2197.
Born into the Akinsanya family on February 21, 1953, he commenced his educational journey at Tinubu Methodist Elementary School and later attended Mayflower School in Ikenne, Ogun State, Nigeria, where he obtained the West African School Certificate (WAEC) in 1970. He furthered his education at Christ School, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, completing his 'A' Level in 1972.
Engr. Akinsanya pursued Mining Engineering at the University of Missouri, Rolla, Missouri, earning a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in Mining Engineering in 1977. He returned to the same university for his Master’s degree (M.Sc) in Civil Engineering (Structure), which he completed in 1979.
With over three decades of experience, Engr. Akinsanya has contributed significantly to transportation infrastructure, particularly in bridge design, construction, transportation planning, and facility construction. He has been involved in designing, plan checking, reviewing, and supervising the construction and maintenance of various bridges and transportation infrastructures.
His career began at the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), where he served as Assistant Bridge/Transportation Engineer Range C from 1979 to 1986 and later as Associate Bridge/Transportation Engineer.
Engr. Ade Olayinka Akinsanya was sworn in as the Honorable Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure Development by Governor Ambode in October 2015 and was later redeployed as the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure in January 2018. In 2019, he was appointed as a Consultant in the Ogun State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure by Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR, CON, and subsequently became a Commissioner in the same Ministry until May 2023. He has recently been reappointed as a Commissioner for the second term of Prince Dapo Abiodun CON. In his personal life, he is happily married and blessed with children.
