Functions of the Department

1. Biodiversity Conservation in the State by;

1. Running an up to date conservation desk /REDDplus desk/ Climate Change desk.
2. Enhancing Ecotourism Development and Zoological Gardens in the State.
3. Ensuring Wetland Conservation within the Gazetted Reserves through Wetland Conservation and Management.

2. Development of Non-Timber Projects which includes;

1. Wildlife Domestication
2. Apiculture
3. Heliculture
4. Sericulture
5. Sustainable Watershed Utilization

3. Monitoring and Regulation of Non-Timber Forest Products and Services in the State
